Every now and then, we get to publicly celebrate a few shining stars for excellent work submitted. Here we highlight top performers in assignment one and task four of the Sinelizwi citizen journalism programme.
Gugulethu Mahlangu took first place in assignment one and won herself a R100 airtime voucher. In this assignment, aspiring citizen journalists had to choose one of the three suggested story ideas and briefly explain how they would tackle the story. They also had to submit a short story of no more than 200 words, which needed to show good use of verbs, tenses and punctuation.
During a Friday night group test, the Sinelizwi citizen journalists were tested on grammar and punctuation. These were the candidates who scored the highest marks.
